Chief Goes Wild over  Delay of Agenda 111 Project

The Paramount Chief of Adeiso in the Upper West Akim District of the Eastern Region, Osabarima Asare Oduro II, is agitating over the persistent delay in the starting of the construction of a One-District-One-Hospital in Adeiso under the Agenda 111 Project of the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo led New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.

The chief stated that he and his elders together with the people of Yaw Obeng have allocated a huge land for the construction of the project in Adeiso when the government approached them and assured them that it would give Adeiso a district modern hospital.

Osabarima Asare Oduro II noted that instead of the current DCE, Mr Eugene Sackey who is the representative of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to do a proper follow-up on the project, he has been sitting comfortably in his office making a series of verbal projections that the hospital project would surely come to life to Adeiso.
“We are tired of the continuous promises of the DCE telling us that the project would surely come on”, he angrily expressed.

According to the chief, due to the interest of the people of  Adeiso and Obeng Yaw people in the project, they had come together to give out the farmlands to hello secure the huge land for the project but has since not benefited from their sacrifice.
“Those who are previously farming on the lands were also asked to stop their farming activities because of the project. So why is the project still not started”, the chief questioned.

He is however blaming the delay of the project on the DCE, Mr Sackey saying he is not working hard to make the project becomes a reality.

"I am very angry with the DCE’s behaviour because he is the major cause of the delay of our hospital project" he stressed.

"What is very painful is that the DCE has also failed to explain to the chiefs and elders of Adeiso why the project is still not coming on" the chief added.
According to him, the checks conducted have indicated some districts have started their construction of One-District-One-Hospital projects, leaving the people in Adeiso on the hook.

The DCE, according to the chief, is completely drawing back the development of the area, a situation which has compelled him to descend heavily on him to wake him up from his slumber.

The chief pointed out, “l want to tell the government that the current DCE is making the government unpopular in Adeiso and its adjoining communities because he failed to bring development to the people.
He pointed out that "if you have come to take my land for the government project and you are not putting the facility on the land then we have to rethink to take over our land back to use for another important community development project," the chief stressed.

The chief is also alleging that the Hon Sackey has sold a grader belonging to Assembly.
He said, “ the DCE came to meet a grader in the assembly and all of a sudden the grader has been removed from the office of the Assembly and when I questioned staff of the assembly over. The disappearance of the machine,  I was told that it was spoiled and the Assembly is going to repair it.

He expressed surprise that for the past four years, the. Assembly has been using it will no. Fault identified.

“We were told that the DCE has sold the grader. So now that we need the grader if you are going to hire one, are they not going to take money from us to hire a different grader. So the DCE always want to cause financial loss to the Assembly and the government”, the chief questioned.

Adding that, “ he knows for sure that what he is doing is going to destroy the district but he continues to do. As for me, I am saying that our grader that is missing in the Assembly, our elders must quickly rise so that we ask the DCE who he sold the grader to”.

Osabarima Asare Oduro II dared the DCE to submit himself to the public for scrutiny if he should claim that he has not sold out the grader belonging to the Assembly.

According to him, the people of Adeiso and its adjoining communities have neglected their share of the national cake due to the current DCE’s inability to impress the government to develop Adeiso enclaves of the Upper West Akim District.
