Do Diligent Work - MP Charges Security Agencies    

Member of Parliament (MP) for Krachi East constituency in the Oti Region Mr. Wisdom Gidisu has called on the security agencies to effect diligent work on the approach to arresting child traffickers.

According to the legislature, the security agencies do not do conscientious work, “they arrest anybody with children they find on the Volta River, presuming they are traffickers.”

He alleged that there have been many instances where parents and guardians who travel by the river were detained and charged hugely for child trafficking when they were not guilty.  

The lawmaker said this bad practice must stop.

Speaking in an interview with Soiree News the lawmaker conversely charged the security agencies to do preliminary investigations and interrogations before the effect of any arrest, the step he said will prevent the prosecution of innocent people.
