The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has organized a workshop for agrochemical dealers in Bono East Region.

The rationale behind the workshop is geared towards equipping participants with the requisite knowledge in chemicals and their management, as well as understanding the legal implications in the business.

Bono East Regional Director, Mr. Anthony Bright Duah, disclosed that after the training the EPA would embark on a post monitoring activity to rope in those who didn’t attend the training to enhance the safety of food crops.

He cautioned the dealers to understand their work well to enable them to offer the necessary advice to farmers on the proper use of the chemicals.

The regional director asked them not only to be interested in making money but also to be keen on helping farmers to have a better understanding of how to apply the chemicals.

Mr. Duah said only licensed dealers would be allowed to sell the products.

He subsequently advised farmers to buy agrochemicals from such dealers.
