Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani has mocked President Muhammadu Buhari over his comments that only God can protect Nigeria’s borders.

Sani said Nigerians, in the next elections, should vote for God and not politicians.

President Buhari had yesterday said only God can protect the country’s borders.

The president made the remark at the State House in Abuja, while receiving in audience former Vice President Namadi Sambo, who heads ECOWAS Election Mission to the West African country.

Reacting, the former Kaduna lawmaker, in a tweet today wrote: “First they said only God can end banditry and insurgency, and now they said only God can protect our borders. Fellow countrymen, next time, vote for God.”

Shehu Sani is a Nigerian senator, an author, playwright and also a human rights activist.

He is the President of the Civil Rights Congress of Nigeria - (CRCN). and the Chairman of Hand-in-Hand, Africa. He was a leading figure in the struggle for the restoration of democracy in Nigeria.
