You have two days to declare the right results else... - Dr Nana Agyenim Boateng warns EC
Dr Nana Agyenim Boateng, UFP

Dr Nana Agyenim Boateng known by many as Gyataba of the United Front Party (UFP) has given the chair of the Electoral Commission, Madam Jean Mensa a two-day ultimatum to declare again the correct 2020 presidential election results following the earlier which ‘illegally’ mandated Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo of the New Patriotic Party a second term office.

The disqualified UFP presidential candidate before the just-ended election says the first results released by Commission which led to the declaration was not a true reflection of the will of the people and an attack on the' fragile democracy' of Ghana hence the need for her to come again and rectify the mess created.

“We are by this release, giving the EC Chairperson, Madam Jean Mensa a two days’ ultimatum, to come out and declare the correct presidential results that actually reflects the will of the Ghanaian people,” he said.

“It is obvious and it is becoming clearer that this election was rigged in favour of the New Patriotic Party candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. It’s sad that the Electoral Commission of Ghana will take for granted our peace and security in this country and erode all the gains we have made in our democracy in this shameful manner.”

The United Front Party held a press conference at the SSNIT Hall in the capital of the Ashanti Region on what they believe is a ‘flip-flopping of the Electoral Commission and the change of figures on the EC’s website which is a clear indication of the flawed nature of the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections.”

They further called on the Ghanaian media to interrogate the matter and put pressure on the Electoral Commission to do the right thing by declaring the results in favour of John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress.

“Election dispute has brought chaos and civil uprising in many parts of the continent, the reason we all need to work to ensure a transparent and fair electoral process so all parties can accept the outcome.

"The media who claimed their figures tallied with that of the Electoral Commission have all been proved to be false with the constant massaging of figures by the Electoral Commission have changed the initial figures which was in the media and which everyone had. Why is the media not asking questions?” he inquired.
