E-levy Yentua Demo: Thousands of  Ghanaians Descend Heavily On Akufo-Addo
Scores of youth on Thursday morning have descended heavily on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo over the E-levy bill, UTAG strike and the hardship Ghanaians, generally are going through under the administration of Akufo-Addo led New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The massive demonstration which began at the Obra spot was a scene to behold as the youth thronged the venue giving the Police a hell of a time controlling them.
Holding placards with inscriptions such as “E-levy is a no brainer to economic recovery and we insist that Yentua!” and “Pay UTAG. Students are suffering!” among others, the youth, many of whom senaradioonline.com spoke to expressed disappointment at the Akufo Addo government and described them as insensitive to the plight of Ghanaians.
According to them the NPP government only came to power to deceive, loot and share Ghana’s resources meant for “all of us”.
“How can a government that is being criticized of an e-levy go and cut an e-levy cake; it means they don't even feel our pains. This is an insult to Ghanaians”, Abdulai Moomen fumed.
“Massa all we are saying is that we don't want the e-levy and we will do anything possible to stop the e-robbery”, decried Yaa Serwaa Aino
The demonstration, though massive was generally peaceful as the convenors, Opare Addo and Edem Agbana took charge and ensured a successful venture demonstration that ended at the Parliament House with a petition to Parliament.
