The General Manager of the Volta River Aityuthor at Dormaa central municipality, Mr John Anim has pleaded with the residents of Dormaa to exercise patience on the recent power crises at Dormaa.

According to him, an official statement is being prepared by GRIDCO to announce the load shedding and also acquire a timetable from the Volta River Authority to be able to minimize the impact it will have directly on customers while making sure that they can keep to their schedule.

Mr John Anim allayed the rising agitation amongst residents of Dormaa over a looming power crisis known as dumsor.

According to him, GRIDCO said some of its transmission lines are faulty and for scheduled maintenance works to be done, some areas will need to have their power disconnected hence they load shedding to enable various maintenance and repair works to be carried out within the power transmission and distribution chain across the country.

Explaining the rationale for the intended exercise, Mr Anim stated that the engineers and contractors working on some transmission lines and bulk supply points needed to connect power into the system to reduce the burden on the existing electricity substations.

He added that till this issue is resolved places such as Dormaa, Drobo, Sampa, Bechem, Duayaw Nkwanta will continue to experience load shedding.
