The National Chairman for the Alliance Driver’s Association, Alhaji Siaka Yahaya has appealed to the government to as a matter of urgency remove all toll booths on roads.

According to him, the tolling fee paid by long journey drivers on the roads is very unfair.

He explained that despite paying such fees, drivers who pay such monies are the ones that suffer from a bad road network.

He said, since all good roads are made in the cities, there is a need for the government to adopt a different strategy in making sure every driver within the cities pays some levies to the government.

He reveals that drivers such as trotro, taxi, private, tricycle users who drive inside the cities are not paying anything to the government, which makes it very unfair.

He suggested that strategies such as; tax on fuel should be used by the government instead of collecting toll from few drivers.

He, therefore, appealed to the Roads Minister to immediately remove all toll booths on the roads.
