The chief said the community is in the hands of God Almighty so there's no need for a smaller god.

 The Divisional Chief of Awutu Adawukwa in the Central Region, Nai Adawu IV, has given a two week ultimatum to various fetish priests and priestesses to immediately remove all smaller gods from the community in order to avoid the wrath of the traditional office holders.

According to Nai Adawu IV,who doubles as Bambofohene of Awutu Traditional Council, he has noticed with shock that, the rampant armed robbery activities in the country are being motivated by fetish priests and priestesses simply because, these criminals go to them for spiritual protection (juju).

He stated that, after notorious criminal go to fetish priests and priestesses for protection (juju), they engaged in gun battle with the police officers, the growing situation he described as worrying and unacceptable.

Additionally, the chief stated that 
most children who were being reported missing are as a result of fetish priests and priestesses using them for sacrifices and money rituals.

Following this development, Nai Adawu IV, charged the government to ban some of the fetish priests and priestesses in the country.

Delivering His keynote address during a durbar, the chief stated that he has dedicated the community into the hands of God the Creator of the universe henceforth, he need no smaller gods in the area. 


Although, there's a freedom of worship in the country, failure to comply with the two weeks ultimatum will result in banishing recalcitrant residents as well as fetish priests from the land of Awutu Adawukwa.

He stated this during the commissioning of a nurses quarters and a community center at Awutu Adawukwa.
