Tanoso-Abuakwa Drivers Appeals for Underpass, Overpass and Flyovers at Abuakwa Junction on the Kumasi-Sunyani Highway.

Drivers who ply on the Tanoso-Abuakwa highway off Kumasi-Sunyani road in the Akwima Nwabiagya District of the Ashanti Region are calling on the contractor constructing the road from Sofoline to Abuakwa to consider turning Abuakwa junction into an overpass, flyover or underpass to put a stop to heavy vehicular traffic at that section of the road. 

Speaking to Sorienews Correspondent Opamago Paparichy in an interview, some of the drivers explained that, the heavy vehicular traffic over the years has made their work difficult because the traffic jam is always on every day from morning through to the evening causing them to incur a lot of losses in their transport business.

According to the drivers, the contractor should try as much as they can to develop the underpass for the drivers who ply the Sunyani-Tanoso road to help reduce daily intense traffic at the Abuakwa junction for easy accessibility on that road.

The drivers have therefore appealed to the Ministry of Roads and Highways, the consultant, and the engineers of that road to reconsider the designs of the road to include the underpass and overpass as well as bypass to help put a stop to any vehicular traffic on the Sunyani-Kumasi high which normally occurs at the Abuakwa junction.
