Do Not Let Anyone Discourage You - Ras Nene

Ras Nene is asking his fans to keep pushing regardless of the difficult situations they find themselves in.

Using himself as an example, the actor narrated how everyone he met while he was still upcoming tried to discourage him from acting because they thought he would never make it.

He however noted that constant rebranding needs to be undergone because an entertainer needs to constantly evolve.

This is why he cut his own dreadlocks because he had used the dreadlocks too much for action movies.

The actor explained he had to shift his focus from action to comedy to keep his audience entertained.

Ras Nene maintained that he is still Rastafarian by heart despite not having his dreadlocks anymore.

“I’m Rastafarian at heart, I cut down my dreadlocks because I overused it for action film roles,” he said.

“So, I sat down one day and decided to rebrand myself and prove the world wrong. I cut my dreadlocks start my comedy career,”

In his roles for action movies, he mostly had to play the role of a villain and his dreadlocks were a perfect fit for the role.

While speaking on JoyPrime, he noted that he switched from action movies because he wanted to display his versatility.

"As a human being, once in a while, you should learn. Do not let anyone discourage you. Do not listen to what people will say and continue what you are doing.”

“There were a lot of big stars who discouraged me when I started comedy and advised me to continue with action films roles. But God has blessed me today,” he concluded.
