The Current Director-General, Welfare of the Ghana Police Service, Maame Tiwaah Addo Dankwah is said to have purchased illegal land belonging to the Methodist church Ghana which they intend to use as a Technical/Vocational School in the coming years at Akuapem Tutu.

An interview with a staunch member of Tutu Methodist Church, and an old student of the Methodist Basic School, Mr Kwaku Asamoah he disclosed that the piece of land which COP Addo Dankwah has built on her storey house belongs to the Methodist Church Ghana and the Methodist Basic School respectively, the only Basic School in the Tutu community for over 50 years.

According to Mr Asamoah, an extended family of Tutu who hails from Akropong once occupied the land about 40 years ago but left within three years.

An unknown person found an illegal means to sell part of the land to one Mr Sammy about 10 years ago and when he tried to start a building on it, the Methodist Church Ghana stopped him through legal means. Sammy after knowing he was at loss for purchasing the asset from the wrong hands sold the land to COP Maame Tiwaah five years ago.

The land was used for farming by the school in the 1970s until it was converted to a temporal school park for the Junior High School for the reason that the lower and upper primary was then sited in the middle of Tutu.

Moreover, the Municipal Assembly has moved the entire Basic school to this site due availability of Space to accommodate the huge number of pupils, since it is the only Basic school that serves a population of over Six thousand in the community.

He lamented that there shall be no playing field in the coming academic year because COP Maame Tiwaah has employed robotic means to put up a building on the said park in spite of a court injunction on the land.

Mr Asamoah told that all efforts to stop her from using the school park from the beginning proved futile because the former CID boss deployed police personnel to brutalized and attack anyone who opposed her actions.

The staunch member revealed that currently, the Methodist Church Ghana has acquired the services of a lawyer to handle the case since the Church is the rightful owner of the said land.
