Chris Rock, an American comedian and actor, has turned down the opportunity to host the Golden Globes in 2024.

Chris Rock declines offer to host Golden Globes 2024 awards after infamous Oscars slap

According to CNN, Rock declined to host the January 7 award presentation in Hollywood alongside Ali Wong and Smartless hosts Will Arnett, Sean Hayes, and Jason Bateman.

Recall that Rock last hosted a significant award show at the 2022 Oscars, when Will Smith interrupted him and gave him a face slap for making a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith's shaved head. Smith said, "Jada, I love you, G.I. Jane 2, can't wait to see it!"

The movie from 1997, which had Demi Moore with a shorn head, was mentioned.

Alopecia, or hair loss, is Pinkett Smith's 51-year-old diagnosis.

The actor, who was born in Philadelphia, then stormed onto the stage, giving Rock a slap before shoving him back into his seat and yelling, "Keep my wife's name out of your f***ing mouth!" twice.

This year, Ali Wong was also asked to host the Globes, but she turned down the opportunity.

According to sources, Will Arnett, Sean Hayes, and Jason Bateman, the co-hosts of the podcast SmartLess, have also declined the offer.

Despite having co-hosted the Globes four times previously, Amy Poehler and Tina Fey are unlikely to do so again in 2023.

CNN was informed by a close source of the women that they would never do it (again). They've finished.

People aren't wanting to host award ceremonies like the Globes, according to a star PR, because it's an unappreciated job. It's not worth it, another person said. There are numerous politicians. It's no longer enjoyable or simple.
