According to him, he visited one of his branch company in Sunyani and saw the woman, Madam Elizabeth Mensah at his work premises that is  Union Fm in the Sunyani Municipal and ask about her mission.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Union Group of Companies Ltd Ghana, Dr Opoku Agyemang has put a smile on the face of a 65-year-old widow who sells charcoal at Yawhima in the Sunyani East Municipal of the Bono Region.

In an exclusive interview, Dr Opoku Agyemang said his slogan is changing lives, transforming the world encouraging him to support the needy more.

According to him, he visited one of his
branch company in Sunyani and saw the woman, Madam Elizabeth Mensah at his work premises that is  Union Fm in the Sunyani Municipal and ask about her mission.
 
The woman said she needs a loan of Gh¢ 5,000.00 to sell a charcoal business in her community which she cannot afford.

He said, looking at the situation of the woman, he decided to give out the money she requested as a loan for free to support her charcoal business and believed in doing that will bring a lot of change in the life of the old widow.

Dr Opoku Agyemang, therefore, advised other CEOs to support the vulnerable people including the widows and needy in society to help alleviate stress and pleasure among what some people are going through in life.

He added that a lot of people are wealthy in Ghana but only a few can support their family members and vulnerable people and said because of that many disabled and beggars are on the street.

Receiving the money Madam Elizabeth Mensah thanked the CEO of Union Groups of Companies for his kindest support towards her in alleviating her plight and said now her community members will get charcoal to buy from her since she has now got what her heart desire to sell charcoal to the people in her area.
