23 Persons Living With Disabilities Received Items Worth GH¢ 47,632.00  From WMA

As part of efforts of the government of Ghana to empower persons with disabilities and also ensure effective utilization of the PWD fund, the social welfare the Wenchi Municipal Assembly led by Hon Alexander Obour Damoah has procured and disbursed items to 23 people with disabilities in the Municipality.

As part of efforts of the government of Ghana to empower persons with disabilities and also ensure effective utilization of the PWD fund, the social welfare the Wenchi Municipal Assembly led by Hon Alexander Obour Damoah has procured and disbursed items to 23 people with disabilities in the Municipality.

The items included,15 Deep Freezers, 3 fufu pounding machines,1 electric oven,2 printers, and 2 sewing machines.

The beneficiaries of the items were 11 males and 12 females.

Addressing the beneficiaries the MCE, Hon Alexander Obour Damoah entreated the beneficiaries to make good use of the items to make money for their standard of living and welfare.

The beneficiaries expressed their profound gratitude to the assembly for considering them and also promised to make good use of the items in ways that would benefit them.

The Wenchi Constituency Communications Officer of the New Patriotic Party Mr. Pope said the fulfillment of a gospel musician O. J song with the title help " Ye mmoa nipa is an ote use" literally means let's help the living when he or she is alive has come to pass, this according to him the idea of the government to empower persons living with disabilities economically to get them out of the streets begging has indicated that government cares about the persons living with disabilities.

He also cautioned them against the thought of selling the items.
