Chief and Family heads are responsible for landguards in the Gomoa district.

The District chief executive for Gomoa East District, Solomon Darko Quarm has revealed that the Chiefs and family heads should be blamed for the rampant invasion of Landguards on Gomoa Lands.

According to him, Land-guards issues are very disturbing in the Central Region, especially in Gomoa East which is giving the district a bad legacy.

Speaking to Freshfm reporter, Honorable Solomon indicated that the district assembly is doing their possible best to have a deliberate meeting with DISEC to deal with the matter but unfortunately, it has been postponed due to a clash of schedules of the assembly.

" Our investigations so far suggest that the Land-guards are the product of various chiefs and palaces, and there is no doubt about that. I always tell my assemblymen that their chiefs and family heads in their communities cultivate the Land-guards, if they desist from efforts to promote these Land-guards, there wouldn't be any Land-guards "

However, the rampant invasion of Landguards on our lands is due to the value of Gomoa Lands in Gomoa and its environs as compared to other places where peace is at its peak pertaining lands.

He also emphasized that places like Dominase, panfokurom, Team, Potsin, and akoti are not exceptional so long as lands dispute is Concerned adding that after several meetings with the chiefs and assemblymen yielded no results, there has no other choice than to deploy Soldiers to help resolve the menace of Landguards.
