Okese1 has hailed the Church of Pentecost for its decision to build prison camps.

The hip-hop artiste told Amansan Krakye that he does not see the use of funds to build such structures as a waste of priorities like most critics think.

“It’s cool to use church funds to build a prison camp. I know the suffering some of my colleagues are going through in prison so I support the idea,” He stated on Kastle FM

He further argued the need for churches to involve themselves in community development like the ultramodern prison camp at Ejura just commissioned by the Church of Pentecost.

According to him, there are many of his colleagues there that go through bad experiences due to inadequate facilities.

“It’s not easy for prisoners so if the church will build a prison camp then it’s a good idea”.

Sometimes we need to also focus our attention on those in prison because they’re really suffering,” he added on the Kastle Entertainment Show.

“Me for instance, I do offer some amount of money to people who have been imprisoned. So it’s a good initiative and it will be very helpful,”

This comes after the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has disclosed that the church is working on completing three more prisons before the end of the year 2021.

The first structure is the multi-purpose prison facility funded and constructed by The Church of Pentecost at Ejura in the Ashanti Region was constructed at the cost of GHS3,297,139.81.
