The second session of the General Assembly Meeting of the Kwahu Afram Plains North District Assembly has been held, with a call on all and sundry to come out with Ideas that would accelerate the sustainable growth and development of the district.

The meeting was aimed at presenting various Assembly Committee Reports, assessment of the performance and achievements, as well as challenges facing the district.
The meeting held at the Assembly Conference Hall of the district saw the attendance of the DCE, Nana Ofori Koree, chaired by the Presiding Member, Mr John Gombbey, Heads of Departments, Stakeholders and a cross section of dignitaries traditional authorities.
In an opening address, the Kwahu Afram Plains North Presiding Member (PM), Mr. John Gombbey welcomed all and gave the platform to participants and assembly members to deliberate on the developmental agenda of the district in fulfilment of the standing orders of the Assembly.

The orders of the Assembly mandates all members to meet as and when necessary to access the critical issues in the district and find the needed ways to address them.
The Presiding Member urged all stakeholders to contribute their quota to perform its constitutional mandate a success.
Delivery the sessional address, the Kwahu Afram Plains North District Chief Executive (DCE), Nana Ofori Koree gave the assurance that he was determined to serve the district to the best of his ability.

He expressed the commitment to collaborate with Stakeholders, institutions and Agencies to work as a team to improve the living standards of the people in the District.
He stressed that the Assembly acquires its financial resources through the District Assembly Common Fund, Internally Generated Fund, District Development Fund and Donations.

He said,since the Assembly has limited financial resource, it finds it difficult to meet the expectation of the citizenry and urged the Assembly members to support the revenue collectors to mobilize more revenue for the Assembly to enable them to address issues affecting people in the district.

On security matters,Nana Ofori Koree, He commended the security agencies in the District, especially the Police who have tried very hard to successfully maintain Peace, Law, and order we are enjoying in the district.
Thd DCE explained that the district continue to remain relatively calm and peaceful due to the prudent strategies put in place by the District Security Committee (DISEC) and assured the stakeholders, the Assembly will do all it takes to support the committee to enable them perform its core mandates.

To make Agricultural sector becomes attractive and productive to people of Donkokrom, Nana Ofori Koree indicated that, the Assembly is putting measures in place to support farmers in the district.
