Honourable Justina Owusu-Banahene

The Bono Regional Minister, Honourable Justina Owusu-Banahene has called on traditional leaders and other stakeholders to unite and direct their efforts towards the development of the country through self-help.

She reiterated that government is unable to rely solely on its sources of funds to finance projects in all the communities across the country.

Justina Owusu-Banahene disclosed this when she commissioned a 4- unit KG classroom block funded by the Rotary Club Sunyani Central and its International partners for the Yawhima Seventh Day Adventist Basic in the Sunyani East Municipality.

Accompanying her were the Regional Coordinator for the Ghana School Feeding Programme and also second vice-chairperson, Doris Asoma, the Regional Treasurer Alhaji Allabey, Bashuru Wahab regional Nassara Coordinator and other officials.

Justina Owusu-Banahene explained in her remarks that; the self-help approach would be a mechanism where the community members would by themselves, identify a need and mobilize resources to start and the government would assist technically with advice, equipment and other support.

This according to her would speed up development at the grassroots and complement the government’s efforts to concentrate on the more big projects as well as committing the people to take good care of their own projects.

The Minister however commended the Rotary Club Sunyani Central for their continuous support to the Municipality.
