Bono region has fair share of road construction-ABS defends Akuffo Addo

The Bono regional communication Director of the NPP, Asare Bediako Seth (ABS) has defended the President's claim that he has contrasted more roads in the history of the country. He said the Bono region has its fair share of road construction.

President Akufo-Addo touted his government to have amassed the greatest achievement in the road sector since he assumed office in 2017 in the history of Ghana.

The President, while delivering the 2022 State of the Nation Address on Wednesday, said his government has constructed some 10,875 kilometers of new roads within the five years he has been in office.

This, he said, is an unprecedented achievement in the infrastructure sector in the history of Ghana. “In the five years of my government, so far, more roads have been built, improved, and upgraded than at any other equivalent period under any government in the history of Ghana.

Speaking on Ark in the morning show monitored by Soiree News, ABS noted that, the Berekum asphalt overlay, Sunyani Dr. Berko road, Sunyani Berlin Top road, Sunyani Lawrence demonstration road are among the ongoing road construction projects.

Commenting on the walkout of the minority during the passage of the e-levy, ABS said the NDC MPs did that to please their supporters.

He described their walkout as a face-saving image strategy. He said, the MPs if they wanted to indeed please their supporters they shouldn’t have gotten to Parliament at all.

He added that their decision to go to court is a waste of time.

On his part, the Bono regional treasurer of the NDC Isaac Ampsonsah Badu said, the government failed to explain in detail what the e-levy entails but only rushed to force it on Ghanaians.

He added that the government deceived the nation that, they would embark on a town hall meeting in the 16 regions but only visited four.
