Young Ghanaian musician Mohammed Ismail Sherif Kwaku Frimpong popularly called Black Sherif has been announced by Youtube as a member of the Foundry 2022 class.

Google in Africa’s Twitter handle announced to praise two young stars thus Black Sherif and Nigerian young star Joeboy of baby fame for landing a spot in the program.

 “We’re excited to welcome @blacksherif_ & @Joeboy to the YouTube Music #Foundry2022 class, which includes 28 other stars from across the world. For us, it’s an incredible honor to be able to support these musicians as they expand their creative influence #Africatotheworld,” the page wrote.

The Foundry 2022 project is YouTube Music’s global artist development program serving the independent music community and allowing artists access to resources to help them thrive on YouTube and build careers on their terms.

The Google-owned company launched the project in 2015.

This move represents another win for the fast-rising Blacko who has completely taken Ghana music by storm.

Aside from massive hits such as Second Sermon and Kwaku the Traveller, Black Sherif also regularly appears on the radar of international stars such as Burna Boy and DJ Khaled.
