The diabolical move by the Paramount Chief of Gomoa Akyempim Traditional Council in the Central Region, Obirifo Ahunuako Ahor Ankobea II to prevent the people of Dominase from participating in the series of decision marking processes of Onion Market which was located at Dominase Junction in the Gomoa East District has angered the newly-installed chief of Dominase, Nana Okogyedom Safo Kantanka Atta IX.

The visibly worried Okogyedom Safo Kantanka Atta IX who was installed for the five months ago stated that the leadership of Gomoa Akyampim Traditional Council, particularly the Gomoa Akyempim Omanhene in question had cheated the people of Gomoa Dominase for long, stressing that it is now the time for them to take the very firm decision to demand their shares from the Council.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Soireenews.com, Okogyedom Safo Kantanka Atta IX stated categorically that the land for which the current onion market was located at Dominase is original and bonafide property of the people of Dominase and that the land in question is for the Gomoa Akyempim Traditional Council.

Okogyedom Safo Kantanka Atta IX accused the Gomoa Akyempim Omanhene and his followers for not including members of the Dominase in onion market planning decisions because they don't want them to benefit directly from the market.
"We are stating that the Gomoa Akyempim Omanhene is not inviting anybody from the Dominase to participate in the leadership of the market, the development when continues would compel us the owners of the land from Dominase to take over their ascestors land for which the market was located," Okogyedom Safo Kantanka Atta IX stressed.
"In this time round we stressing that if the leadership of the Council fails to include the people of Dominase in the membership of the Onion Market planning decisions we are planning to either take our market back or we evacuate the onion sellers from the land so that Obirifo Ahunuako Ahor Ankobea II and his followers to find out another land to set up the market," Okogyedom Safo Kantanka Atta IX stated, adding that when we take over the land, we are going to use the land for different purpose."
He lamented that "through out the whole year, no developmental projects and programmes have come directly from the Council to the Gomoa Dominase," the chief complained.
He pointed out that the Council under the leadership of the Omanhene don't think about the development of Gomoa Dominase which was lacking several social amenities.
He added that Obirifo Ahunuako Ahor Ankobea II does not do anything directly which benefits the people in Gomoa Dominase, saying that if these challenges persist in that way then we have no option to withdraw our allegiance or homages from the Akyempim Traditional Council," the chief stressed.
He blamed Obirifo Ahunuako Ahor Ankobea II for always working against of bringing the social and infrastructural intervention development projets and programmes to Gomoa Dominase.
The chief stated that the people of Gomoa Dominase are under the Akyempim Traditional Council and that have no bad intentions about the Council but its overlord , particularly the President of the Council, Obirifo Ahunuako Ahor Ankobea II are sinking the development of Gomoa Dominase.

He said that Obirifo Ahunuako Ahor Ankobea II has played a leading role for the sitting of Gomoa East District Assembly in Potsin in instead of Gomoa Dominase which was on the initial plan of the central government.
He noted that the development which has degenerated into the fight between the people of Potsin and Dominase.
"We think that Obirifo Ahunuako Ahor Ankobea II having being the Paramount Chief of Gomoa Akyempim Traditional who supposed to have solved this issue amicably rather went to support the people of Potsin against Gomoa Dominase over the sitting of the Gomoa East District Assembly office.

"We are shocked to even hear from Obirifo  Ahunuako Ahor Ankobea II during the inauguration of the office complex of Gomoa East District Assembly that the people of Gomoa Dominase donot have a land to host the Assembly within their community.

"So the question to ask is that why is it that
the people Potsin who Gomoa Akyempim Omanhene claims have land to build the project should have evacuated their Junior High School students from their school compound and built the Gomoa East District Assembly office on it," Okogyedom Safo Kantanka Atta IX rethorically asked.
On the location of Onion Sellers market in Dominase, he said the"Gomoa Akyempim Omanhene being seen as the overlord of the council for which the Dominase is part should have influenced the market as least for the people of Dominase to also participate or have their shares of the market, but he [Obirifo  Ahunuako Ahor Ankobea II] is seen turning otherwise."

He lamented that the people of Dominase have not gotten the benefits from the onion market as the way they should have gotten.
"So as it stance now, non of the people at Dominase community member is selling or have a portion within the onion market on the land of Dominase," he stated.
Meanwhile, the Gomoa Akyempim Omanhene has states that he don't want to hear people calling the name of the market as Dominase Onion Market, since there is written on the entrance of the market as Akyempim Market, the decision of which we, the people of Dominase are protesting against.
"Because when you go to Kasoa, there is a market which supposed be named as the Odumpong market but the actual name the people called that market is Kasoa Market as compared to other market centres which they named after their towns and villages," the chief stated.
In this case, according to the chief, the people of Dominase community realized that the Gomoa Akyempim Omanhene and his cohorts are trying to take their bonafide properity from them, saying that they are not going to allow them.
"We are saying that through out the whole year, no developmental projects and programmes have come directly from the Gomoa Akyampim Traditional Council to the Gomoa Dominase.
He pointed out that the Council under the leadership of Obirifo Ahunuako Ahor Ankobea II don't think about the development of Gomoa Dominase which was lacking several social amenities.
He added that "Obirifo Ahunuako Ahor Ankobea II Omanhene does not do anything directly which benefits the people in Gomoa Dominase, stressing that "if these challenges continue in that way, then we have no option than to withdraw our allegiance from Akuapim Traditional Council."
