The assembly member for Post Office Square Electoral Area, Mr Eric Oduro, Alias Awai, reiterated that, the Member of Parliament, Mr Alfred Obeng Boateng must be proactive and ensure there is peace within the municipality, since school children, traders, farmers and others fear going out alone.

LA pressure group within the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region calling itself Sefwi Bekwai Youth Movement, has given the Chief of Bibiani, Nana Kwadwo Armah Basape II a week ultimatum to act on the wanton killings of innocent characters in the community.
Speaking in an account with the leader of the group at a press conference held on Thursday September 22 2022,, the President of the group, Mr Eric Nkansah, popularly known as Kwaku Baako, expressed that the youth feel mystified over the precipitous silence of the Paramount Chief after the unfortunate incident.
He unfolded that the Omanhene, since the issue commenced, has never uttered a word, including this has left the entire community in a state of predicament.
He emphasized that the youth will do all they could to ensure the murdered Martha Tetteh gets justice.
“We cannot sit an aloof for these unlawful acts to continue here in Bekwai. They gave Nana Kwadwo Armah Basape II one week ultimatum to step out and act on the impunities going on the community or face our wrath,” he said.
For his part, the assembly member for Post Office Square Electoral Area, Mr Eric Oduro, Alias Awai, reiterated that, the Member of Parliament, Mr Alfred Obeng Boateng must be proactive and ensure there is peace within the municipality, since school children, traders, farmers and others fear going out alone.
“Why has Alfred Obeng Boateng kept mute on this issue? Is he not aware of what is happening within the municipality? This is very disheartening, and we are calling him to sit up and act as soon as possible.”
Furtherance of the story, they compelled the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr George Akufo Dampare, to call to book. They have alleged his officers for taking a bribe to free the perpetrators of the evil acts.
“We have had intelligence that some police officers are masking behind some perpetrators and taking bribes to free them. We are calling on the IGP to act upon that. However, the Attorney General must quicken the process to ensure they brought the evil makers to face the rigours of the law,” he remarked.
