Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe has urged President Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu, to plead with his father on behalf of Nigerians to take urgent actions to tackle the excruciating economic hardship.

She made the call after Seyi Tinubu admonished Nigerians to be patient with his father and endure the current economic hardship with the hope of reaping the gains of the administration’s economic reforms in the future.

Aigbe said the present situation of the country was “terrible,” stressing that citizens are hungry, dying, and going out of their minds.

On her Instagram page, she wrote: “People are hungry! People are dying! People are going out of their minds!

“The present situation of the country is terrible! The government should, please, please, we are begging, they should do something about this economic hardship!

“It’s unbearable, @officialasiwajubat. @seyitinubu, please beg your father for us. O to ge!”

In a related post, Nollywood actor, Seun Jimoh has urged the Nigerian government to declare a state of emergency on food production.

The actor made this appeal in a post on his official Instagram page while reacting to the level of hardship in the country.

While emphasizing the dire consequences of the current state of affairs for Nigerians, Jimoh noted that starvation should only occur in a country during war or when there are no fertile lands.

He further implored the President Bola Tinubu administration to urgently tackle hunger and food insecurity in Nigeria.

“Dear Nigerian government, it’s time to declare a state of emergency on food production. The only time there should be famine in the land is if there is a war or there are no arable lands. There is no reason why food should be scarce in Nigeria,” he wrote.
