Nigerian singer Rudeboy of the defunct P-Square music group has advised his fellow celebrities who are doing giveaways on social media following the close down of some big markets in Lagos.

The Lagos state government earlier announced the need to close down some big markets to prevent the spread of the deadly coronavirus due to the rise in number of infected people.

Reacting to that, some Nigerian celebrities decided to help those on social media who can’t afford to buy food stuff until they re-open the markets with some money to be able to do so.

But Rudeboy seems to disagree with the way a section of his colleagues are helping in this crisis.

According to him, those who really need help are not on social media.

"The people who truly need help don’t even know social media not to talk of knowing what data is to come on social media to be asking celebrities for money," he said.

He posted on his InstaStory drawing the attention of his colleagues to the fact that those that really need help are on the street and various homes.
