Banda DCE embarks on thank you tour

The District Chief Executive for Banda District,  Emmanuel Konne has begun his thank you tour in the constituency after he was confirmed by the assembly.

He was accompanied by the officials from the district assembly.

Addressing the gathering,  Mr.Konne stated that the tour of some 9 communities in the District was to interact with the community folks as well as to explain some government policies to them.

He indicated that the visit of such nature will be regular during his tenure to enable him and the management of the Banda district assembly understand their plight, and also account to the people for the power entrusted in them as their leaders. He added that peace and unity should prevail for a better living among them.

The DCE commended the chiefs and the people of the area for trusting and supporting him and assured them of good administration.

He lauded the chiefs for their efforts to help develop their communities even before he was appointed into office.

“Before I was nominated as a DCE, the chiefs were already in the bid of developing their enclaves, so I needed to get to them for advice and blessings to enhance my work", he said.

At Banda Nyire, one of the communities he visited, he mentioned that education is key and education related issues will be tackled with the needed attention to address educational challenges in the communities.

"I have had some requests from the chiefs which are very challenging for them and I will make sure to assist them, but I will first tackle educational issues because where there is no access to education, development retards", he stated.

In addition, he stated that in a bid to promote healthcare delivery at the community levels, CHPS compounds will be set to ease the stress and pressure on the major health centre in the area.

In all the communities he visited, the chiefs were full of appreciation for the DCE’s visit and the projects embarked upon in their District. They pledged their collaboration in ensuring that the assembly succeeds in all of its activities.
