Ayensuano Chief Advices Parents to Stop Buying Funeral Clothes and Invests in their Children's Education-Nana Govina Kokouvi II.

Nana Govina Kokouvi ll, the Chief of Govinakrom in the Ayensuano District of the Eastern Region has urged parents to take greater responsibility for the education of their children.

Speaking at the ground durbar of Govinakrom District Assembly D/A  Basic Primary School 60th Anniversary Celebration together with his community members in raising funds in aid of their school infrastructure, Nana Govina Kokouvi ll explained that, the falling standards of education could not be attributed to inaction on the part of teachers but rather parents who had neglected their supervisory roles.

Nana Govina Kokouvi ll added that he was not happy about the situation where some parents did not provide the basic needs of their children but expected them to provide their own needs which is awful.

He advised parents to pay a continuous visit to schools to find out the challenges facing their children in the various schools.

The chief appealed to teachers to give off their best at all times and to be prepared to accept postings to remote areas and called for
more efforts to promote girl child education.

He continues to advise the school children to take their education seriously especially the girls to enable them to acquire a better future rather than become teenage pregnant.

He, therefore, appeals to the government through the District Chief Executive and other authorities to come to their aid to provide good school buildings for the children in the area.

Some of the Chiefs and  Elders in Govinakrom also appealed to the parents to provide their children with the needed items they need in school and therefore advise the students to take their education seriously because they are the future leaders of this country.

They added that they will do everything possible to stop teenage pregnancy in the community as well advised the motor riders also known as Okada riders to leave the girls alone to complete their education than mingle with them whiles they are at school to impregnate the girl who falls victim to their play.
