Arsenal are willing to negotiate with Mesut Ozil to terminate his £350,000-per-week contract, the Daily Mail reports.

The former Real Madrid player’s future is surrounded with uncertainties regarding his future after the club left out his name in the Europa League squad for the 2020/21 campaign on Thursday.

Arsenal are likely to omit his name in the final Matchday squad when clubs are allowed to pick 17 players “non-homegrown on October 20” which will be submitted to the PL on October 20.

The player last year in an interview with The Athletics’ David Ornstein said "no" to the possibility of him leaving the club in the immediate future and will see out his contract.

"When I signed the new deal, I thought about it very carefully and said it was one of the most important decisions of my footballing career. I didn't want to stay for just one or two more years, I wanted to commit my future to Arsenal and the club wanted me to do the same.

"You can go through difficult times, like this, but that is no reason to run away and I'm not going to. I'm here until at least 2021."

Ozil is yet to feature for Arsenal having sat on the sidelines for seven months now without kicking a ball.

He is the highest-paid player in the Gunners squad yet Arsenal is set to reopen talks with his representatives ahead of the January transfer window to end his stay at the Emirates.
