The incident happened in Area 2 in the Sunyani municipality of the Bono Region. The young man identified as Yaw George (known as Jaro) who is said to be a Fulani was caught attempting to kidnap the kid whose name was given as Nana Korang when the boy was on his way to his elder sister's shop near his own mother's chop bar.
According to Akua Pokua, the victim's mother, she narrated that she was with his son at her chop bar when she rushed to the bathroom to wash. Suddenly she heard some people screaming only to find out that her son has been taken away by an unknown person so she shouted for help and the residents came to rescued her son.
The angry residents later viciously attacked him and beat him mercilessly few minutes Later, the Sunyani district police officers came to the scene and rescued the suspect (Jaro) from the angry residents now he is in police custody for further investigation.
