The Elections Committee opened nominations for the Constituency Elections on the 3rd of February, 2023, and closed nominations on the 4th of February, 2023.

The Akwatia Constituency New Patriotic Party (NPP) after holding successful elections of Polling Station Executives and Electoral Area Coordinators in the Akwatia Constituency, the process of electing Constituency Officers commenced in earnest.

The Elections Committee opened nominations for the Constituency Elections on the 3rd of February, 2023, and closed nominations on the 4th of February, 2023.

Twenty-Five (25) people successfully went through the processes to contest for the various positions; however, two (2) of them, namely Ali Abubakar (1st Vice Chairman aspirant) and Vivian Afflu (Women’s Organizer aspirant), have stepped down from the race leaving twenty-three (23) persons.

For the avoidance of doubt, below is the list of aspirants and the respective positions contesting.

Venue: Akwatia GCD Walker Club Park

Time:9:30 am prompt.

It is instructive to note that the elections shall be conducted by the Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana and in conformity with the Constitution of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and, by extension, the laws of Ghana.

The Electoral processes have been smooth, transparent and fair thus far, with massive cooperation from all stakeholders. Players are admonished to keep faith with the Regional Leadership and offer their support as we wrap up the internal elections in the Akwatia constituency this weekend.
