President Nana Addo Dankwa Addo-Addo has been commended for reappointing the incumbent Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Benjamin Kessie for the second term.

The scores of Tarkwa-Nsuaem divisional chiefs, youth, market men and women, students and supporters of the News Patriotic Party (NPP) in the area congratulated the President In a random interview conducted by Soireenews after the announcement of the lists of Metropolitan Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDECs) by Minister for Regional Reorganisation, Mr Dan Botwe yesterday.

Amidst jubilation of the residents in the various electoral areas within the municipality, the constituents were quick to describe the incumbent MCE as a very hard working person and called on Assembly members to endeavour to vote massively for him to be confirmed as the MCE to continue to work hard to transform the municipality.

According to them, they were full of praise and urged the President to trust in Mr Kesse by reappointing him for the following years since he has demonstrated beyond measures to champion development in Tarkwa Nsuaem.

According to them, his reappointment for the second term reflects the heritage of what Tarkwa Nsuaem is “best known for in history”.

“Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal accounts significantly towards the exploitation of mineral resources in the country which has been a strong backbone of Ghana’s economic growth. Against this backdrop, we are very enthused to state that we would help Mr Kesse to continue to bring sustainable development to the area.

The residents pointed out they have no doubt in their minds that Mr Kesse will work assiduously and to the best of his ability and support the substantive Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Mr George Mireku-Duker who doubles as the Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources to ensure that President Akufo-Addo’s vision for the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency in the connection of the fight against illegal small scale mining activities is completely achieved.”

“We all know what has been happening to our forest and water bodies. How galamsey is wreaking havoc on our environment? The incumbent MCE who was retained by the President would continue to work with Honorable Mireku-Duker who were come to the position with a lot of rich experience in natural resource governance. We believe that the two personalities who have worked with reputable civil society organizations in the extractive sector and so we believe that he will contribute do well,"

They are of the firm belief that the development of Tarkwa Nsuaem will improve due to the re-appointment of Mr Kesse by the President since he demonstrates good works to show himself approved.

“We will also use this opportunity to humbly remind the President that, we are for the development of Tarkwa- Nsuaem and believe that Mr Kesse would be supported by a hardworking and dedicated MP. On this call, we humbly call on the Assembly members to accept the re-appointment of Mr Benjamin Kessie and give him massive endorsement since the latter has performed remarkably in a short period of time with a very cordial working relationship with the MP and Nananom.

They pointed out the combination of the duo coupled with our support will accelerate the needed development in Tarkwa Nsauem”, they assured.
