The Asunafo North Municipal Co-Operative Cocoa farmers Union in Ahafo Region have presented over 70,000 branded exercise books to the Ghana Education Service for onward distribution to the needy but brilliant children to promote education in deprived communities.

So far the Asunafo North Municipal Cocoa farmers have donated a total of more than 120,000 exercise books, and also built schools in support of the government to ensure all children of school-going age have access to education.

The Manager of the Cocoa Farmers Union, Patrick Owusu said the association aims at ending child labour in the Asunafo North.

The Asunafo North Municipal Director of Ghana Education Service, Margrate Oboubu commended the Cooperative for their massive support on the educational sector in the Municipal.

Meanwhile the President of the Farmers, Daniel Amponsah Gyinaye has appeal to President Nana Akufo-Addo to extend the recent fight on galamsey activities to forest reserves in the area since illegal chainsaw operators have invaded all forest reserves in the Ahafo falling down the trees indiscriminately for lumber which is a threat to cocoa production.
