The initiative is by President Nana Akufo-Addo through the  Forestry Commission of Ghana in collaboration with faith-based organizations and second cycle institutions.

The Omanhene of Goaso Traditional Council Nana Kwasi Bosompra l has made a passionate appeal to Chiefs in Ahafo Region to ensure they support the government "Green Ghana Project" to succeed.

The Deputy Chief Executive Officer Hon. Martha Kwayie made paid a courtesy call on the traditional council at the palace.

"Every Chief in Ahafo Region must support this Green Ghana Project, looking at how some illegal chainsaw operators, illegal farming among other human activities in our Forest Reserves in the region affects the rainfall pattern, most our people too are cocoa farmers, which need this Green Ghana Project to sustain".Nana Kwasi Bosompra l 

Nana Kwasi Bosompra l was speaking to Soireenews Sulley Dramani when the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Forestry Commission of Ghana, Honourable Marta Kwayie together with the Ahafo Regional Forestry Commission team paid a courtesy call on him to brief him of Green Ghana Project.

The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Forestry Commission, Honourable Marta Kwayie said Ahafo Region is expected to plant over 17,000 different economic trees in the region and per the Regional Minister George Boakye, his office and all the six Municipal and District Chief Executives in the region are ready to ensure the project is successful.
