Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti arrested for alleged assault
Seun Kuti, a Nigerian Afrobeat musician, has reportedly been detained for allegedly assaulting a police officer, according to a tweet from Lagos police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin that also included a picture of the musician wearing handcuffs.

Following a Saturday detention order from police chief Usman Alkali Baba, Kuti surrendered at the Lagos State Police Command headquarters.
The police spokesman stated that he was "caught on video assaulting a police officer in uniform."
Kuti, the son of Fela Kuti, the father of Afrobeat, went to the police headquarters with his attorney and a member of his family, Hundeyin continued.
Kuti claimed on Twitter before to his arrest that the cop had attempted to kill him and his family, although he did not specify how.
Since his arrest, he and his attorney have not made any comments.
