Adama Traore has admitted that the decision to join Barcelona as speculated by the media is not his to make.

According to the Wolverhampton Wanderers winger, although he has spoken a lot with Ansu Fati yet making a move to his former side is something he has not considered.

Adama who confessed to AS at the beginning of the year that he left Barcelona to welcome new challenge and develop as a player due as a result of misunderstanding and has no regret leaving made his first appearance for the La Roja on Wednesday night against Portugal.

He was very impressive in the game where the Spain National team played a goalless draw with Portugal.

"We (he and Ansu Fati) talk about everything, more general topics because I have been at the club for many years and so has he," Adama said during a press conference on Thursday.

"We met in the academy, we spoke about things to do with the team, the things that we have happened together at Barcelona and we know each other well.

"It's not my decision whether I would suit Barcelona, my mentality is to work every day to be better."

Adama last year made his intentions known that he wanted to play for the Mali National team until he received a call up into the Spanish senior national team for the EURO qualifying matches against Malta and Romania however, he was pulled out of the squad due to injury.

He was also detached from the squad during his secondary invitation in 2020 after testing positive for COVID-19. Asked whether Frederic Kanoute has been open in his approach to try and convince him to switch allegiances and play for Mali, the 24-year old said, "I didn't talk to him about the [Malian] national team.

"I met him when I was a child, he is a big personality in Mali, but I did not talk to him about this issue."
