The Central Regional Police Command has pledged to make Kasoa an uncomfortable place for criminals as the police in collaboration with Ghana Immigration Service in a swoop today, Thursday have arrested 340 criminals allegedly involved in cybercrime activities. 
The operation dubbed "Operation Storm Kasoa" according to the police is part of their efforts to clamp down on criminals in the area.
The majority of the suspects arrested were Nigerians including five females. Gomoa Budumburam, Awutu Ofaakor, Adade, Akweley and Kasoa CP were part of areas swooped by the Police.
 DCOP Habiba Twimase Sarpong in a press conference told Soireenewsthat, a total number of 245 laptops, 142 assorted mobile phones and 6 Nigerian passports were retrieved.
She said, nine out of the suspects were in possession of a substance suspected to be Indian herb.

The suspects, she said will be screened and those found culpable will be arraigned before court.
"We embarked an operation and we have arrested suspects of 340, 245 laptops. 142 assorted mobile phones and Nacortic drugs were found on them. After they are screened, those found guilty will be arraigned before court.
"This is part of the strategy to combat crime especially at Kasoa and this is not the final one. They will be continuously embarked until our aim is achieved," DCOP Habiba Twimase Sarpong
The DCOP called on the general public to assist the police with all necessary as part of their efforts to fight crime at Kasoa.
"I advise that, don't just keep anything you see to yourself. If we fail to say anything regarding crime, the jobs become tough for us. The Police is your friend and without your help there is nothing we can do.
"I am assuring all Central Region residents especially people of Kasoa that the Police is at work and we will make sure crimes are combatted. We need proactive and reactive information for our work in order for peace to reign in the Central Region."
