24-hour heavy downpour causes flood at Abossey Okai destroys huge properties.

The current downpour has not just rendered havoc on residents but has caused a huge loss to residents of the nation's capital.

The government of the Republic of Ghana has put a lot of effort into curbing floods in the country, especially in the capital town (Accra).

Close to a full day downpour on May 23rd, halted activities at Abossey Okai and some parts of the country.

Belongings of inhabitants such as food items, toiletries, and vehicles among other vital things were destroyed due to the downpour. 

Affected victims have called on the government to as a matter of urgency intervene to ease the situation on especially commuters.

Media engagement with some victims off-air revealed that the government's effort to curb the situation has not been tough as it is supposed, they think putting much effort into fighting flood could curb the situation.

However, the police have advised the general public to be extra careful regarding daily activities as we are on the verge of approaching the rainy season.
