NPP Orders Party Communicators to stop ‘Sexist’, Ethnocentric Politics

The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 2020 campaign team has admonished its communicators against attacking political opponents.

The NPP said such attitudes do not reflect the party’s ‘philosophy of positive engagement’.

This caution comes in the wake of criticisms of former President, John Dramani Mahama’s selection of Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as his running mate.

Following her announcement as Mahama’s running mate, some assessments and attacks on Prof Opoku-Agyemang has been described as ‘sexist’ and untoward by the National Democratic Congress.

“We, therefore, urge all who speak for or purport to speak for the party to refrain from attacking political opponents. We specifically ask that no reference should ever be made to opponents’ ethnicity, religion or gender.”

They advised their communicators to speak on the NPP government’s achievement.

Below is the statement from the office of the NPP’s 2020 Campaign team
