Manchester City’s Nathan Ake has been struck by injury.

The former Bournemouth defender limped off in the Netherlands 1 -1 friendly with Spain on Wednesday night after six minutes on the pitch.

He was pictured exiting the game whiles clutching his right hamstring to pave way for Delay Blind.

Manchester City now faces an anxious wait to see the extent of the youngster’s injury.

Elsewhere in the Premier League, Gareth Southgate provided the latest update on Joe Gomez injury saying the player has to undergo scan to know the magnitude of injury he sustained.

"I can't tell you how serious it is because he's yet to have scans,” he said in his press conference ahead of the England game on Thursday.

"What was upsetting was to see he was in a fair bit of pain and the fact that there was nobody around him when the injury happened, so I didn't like that element of it.

"We've just got to wait and see what the scans show, and we're all hopeful for him that it's not what it might be. But it's not a good situation and I don't see him being involved in the games with us, that's for sure.

"My immediate thoughts are with him because he's had some difficult injuries in the past, so we're hoping as much as we possibly can and praying that it's not going to be a long-term one, but we'll just have to see."
