Covid-19 Lockdown: Gender Ministry Announces Hotlines to call for “Free Food”
According to the sector minister, the numbers will guide the Ministry in ensuring equitable distribution of food
The Ministry for Gender, Children and Social Protection has announced free food hotlines for the needy in locked-down areas across the country amid the pandemic.
The hotlines are 0800800800 and 0800900900.
This was disclosed by the sector Minister, Mrs Cynthia Morrison at a press briefing in Accra on Tuesday, April 7.
She said the numbers will guide the Ministry in ensuring equitable distribution of food.

The minister also mentioned that government was collaborating with faith-based organizations to help in the distribution of food to some 400,000 Ghanaians.
“Government is dealing not only with the Ministry of Social Protection; we are dealing with the faith-based churches. We’ve given rice, yam, maize, tin tomatoes, oil, eggs to the faith-based churches…It is government that has given the churches food to send round,” she said.
