Carabao Cup: Arsenal win MASSIVE, City run RIOT, S'oto hit 4 and Spurs humbled
Carabao Cup

Arsenal comfortably walk over Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup at the Emirates yesterday.

Kieran Tierney made his debut at left-back, whiles Rob Holding returned from his length injury to play at centre-half. Hector Bellerin was named on the bench as 18-year-old striker Gabriel Martinelli was called for his first competitive start.

Sabri Lamouchi, meanwhile, has made six changes from the Nottingham Forest side that beat Barnsley 1-0 in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday. Ari Muric, who is on loan from Manchester City and played in this competition until the semi-final last season, started in goal, having been dropped from their league side earlier in the season, while Lewis Grabban was benched.

Martilenni scored the opening and his debut in the 31-minute. A lovely ball was pinged by Nelson to Chambers on the right. He drove it back in the middle and injected a volley. The 18 year old firmly connected with a header to turn the ball into the top corner.

Holding capped his return with a headed goal in the 71-minute after a decent corner was ballooned in the box. Six minutes later, Willock scored Arsenal’s third. Bellerin tried to shoot from the edge o the box but his effort was congested. The ball fell on the path of Mustaphi who played it neatly into the path of the Spaniard and he squared for Willock to turn the ball in.

Nelson scored the forth before Martinelli added his second from 25-yards out for to advance the Gunners into the fourth round.
