You Are A Coward; Stop That Nonsense And The Lies-Aspiring Assemblyman For Bedieso Old Town In Obuasi Warned!
According to Honourable lshmael Yakubu the claimed being made by Mr Ampong that he took the stance to support some residents to organize a communal labour and clean-up exercise on Saturday July 8, 2023 in the Bedieso Old Town Area in the Obuasi Municipality while he [Honourable Ishmael Yakubu] was absent was blatant lies and baseless.

An aspiring Assembly Member for Bedieso Old Town Electoral Area in the Obuasi Municipality of the Ashanti Region, Mr. Micheal Ampong has incurred the wrath of the incumbent Assembly Member of the area who doubles as the executive member of Obuasi Zonal Council ,Honourable lshmael Yakubu for conniving with some self seeking residents to peddle the lies about him.
According to Honourable lshmael Yakubu the claimed being made by Mr Ampong that he took the stance to support some residents to organize a communal labour and clean-up exercise on Saturday July 8, 2023 in the Bedieso Old Town Area in the Obuasi Municipality while he [Honourable Ishmael Yakubu] was absent was blatant lies and baseless.
He stressed that for best of his knowledge Mr Ampong has not organized any communal labour and clean up exercise in the area as being claimed by him, saying that Mr Ampong was lying to the general public ostensibly because of his interest to contest the Assembly member position with him.
"I am stressing that Mr Ampong to stop lying through his teeth, because his desperate attempt to peddle lies about me only attests to the exhaustion of his tricks. He is a coward and non resident of Bedieso electoral area," maintained.
Honourable lshmael Yakubu explained that when he together with the Chairman of the Obuasi Zonal Council, Mr. Mohammed Issahaku aka Wazu including some accredited stakesholders and opinion leaders announced the organization of the communal labour and subsequently fixed the Saturday July 8, 2023 for the exercise, they were advised by the security hierarchies of Obuasi municipality to hold on to the exercise.
According to him, they were advised that they should postponed the planned exercise with reference to the current security challenges confronting the municipality in connection of unending riots of the illegal miners popularly known as galamseyers in the area.
"We were told that we need to be protected by the security personnel when we are doing the exercise because of the current security implications within the Obuasi municipality.
"...so having being the law abiding citizens of Ghana we have obeyed the advises being offered to us by the security hierarchies of Obuasi municipality and dully postponed the date. And that we have fixed another date which is the next coming Saturday for the exercise. So it is not true that l have boycotted the exercise. The whole issues were that the exercise didn't even come on at all as being planned and announced," Honourable Yakubu sets the records straight.
He also denied the widespread allegations from Mr Ampong to the effect that he has not organized communal labour since he has been elected the Assembly member for Bedieso Old Town Electoral Area in Obuasi.
Mincing no words, Honourable Yakubu called on general public, particularly the residents of Bedieso area in Obuasi to disregard the allegations levelled against him by Mr Ampong and his followers.
He stressed that there is no iota of true in the allegations, saying that it was a calculated attempt by Mr Ampong and his followers to defame his but they had virtually failed since his vast track records and achievement so far in the area have spoken for him.
Honourable lshmael Yakubu was responding to the viral media publication attributed to Mr Ampong who accused the former for taking the residents of Bedieso Old Town Electoral Area in Obuasi for granted.
In that publication, the Soireenews.com reported that residents of Bedieso Old Town Electoral in the Obuasi Municipality are boiling with angry at their Assembly Member for not attending any communal labour in their community since elected as assembly man.
Speaking in an interview with Shaft FM, monitored by Soireenews.com, Mr Ampong stated that since the incumbent assembly member, Honourable lshmael Yakubu has been elected as an assembly member he has not taken part in any communal labour in the area.
Mr Ampong who is contesting for his third time in Bedieso, Mangoase and Kulam Electoral Area said the incumbent assembly member does not pay attention to the residents of Bedieso but only focus in Kulam.
Meanwhile the assembly man gets revue from Bedieso than Kulam.
He said there are a lot of stores and containers at Bedieso where the assembly member get money from.
But he has never organized a community forum before.
"You will only see him there at Bedieso when he is coming to collect money from store owners and container owners," he added.
He said the embattled Assembly member himself called for a communal labour to be held on Saturday 8th July,2023 but he was no where to be found.
"So all the youth dispersed,But as an incoming assembly member,I have to go to houses to call the youth to come for the communal labour in the absence of Honorable Ishmael Yakubu.
Following this development, Alhassan Ibrahim who is popularly know as Alhaji, a native of Bedieso has supported the youth with,tools,water and money to make the communal labour successful.
But in a quick rebuttal to the issue in an interview with Soireenews.com, the incumbent Assembly member rubbished all the allegations levelled against him by Mr Ampong and stated that he is a coward.
He described the allegations of Mr Ampong as a propaganda machinery to score his points, saying that Mr. Ampong didn't have locus or campacity to organize a clean up exercise in the electoral area.
"Mr Ampong can go round to use the media platforms to peddle the lies about me, but l am on the grounds, he has failed because he is not even coming from the Bedieso," the incumbent Assembly member stressed.
