Yapei Kusawgu NDC  Grassroots Are Truly  Angry With Their MP, John Abdulai Jinapor   –For 'Poor' Performance Although He Is Contesting The Primaries Unopposed
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Yapei Kusawgu Constituency in the Savanna Region, Honourable John Abdulai Jinapor
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Yapei Kusawgu Constituency in the Savanna Region, Honourable John Abdulai Jinapor seems
to have incurred the wrath of his party's grassroot members and supporters including some delegates, branch and constituency executives for not working to help improve the broken foundations and structures of the NDC in the constituency.

Speaking in an interview with Soireenews.com via telephone on Monday April 10, 2023, they complained bitterly of lack of proper logistics and the party office to enable the constituency executives to carry out their administrative activities effectively and efficiently in the constituency which has the sitting MP in the Parliament.
There are pieces of evidence for which the NDC footsolders and delegates used to back their claims that indeed the grassroots are angry at their MP for not performing his MP tasks to their expectations although Mr. Jinapor has become one of the few candidates to get a free pass in the upcoming parliamentary primaries of the NDC.
According to them, the grassroot structures and foundations of the party in the Yapei Kusawgu Constituency were broken which situation were seriously affecting the activities of the party which is preparing to win political power in the 2024 general elections.
The grassroots of the party were angry because they were not resourced to work for the party, rather outsiders and strangers were enjoying all the party’s resources in the constituency.
They stated that all the several efforts made by them to get their MP to empower and strengthening the grassroot structures and foundations of the party in the constituency have proven futile.
They lamented the present situation where the responsibility of raising resources for grassroots activities of the NDC in the Yapei Kusawgu Constituency is solely left in the hands of branch and constituency executives is completely affecting their businesses and families.
"As we are talking to you (referring to this journalist) today if you come to Yapei Kusawgu Constituency and see the whole constituency party office located at Yapei township for which Honourable John Abdulai Jinapor represents in parliament, you would be ashamed.

"This of our party office at Yapei is decayed, deteriorated, or fallen into partial ruin especially through neglect of our MP. The  There are no computers and printing machine, enough seats, forcing the constituency to  work from their various houses. This is very disgusting and shameful," the disgruntled NDC grassroot members stated.
They accused MP of amassing wealth for himself and doing very little to help the party’s fortune in the elections.
"We are saying that the MP failed flat to demonstrate his MP leadership to empower and reposition the NDC grassroots and make it battle-ready for election 2024 and beyond," they maintained.
The NDC grassroot supporters complained bitterly that "any time they have respectively approached their MP in wake of recruitment in the security services to help them to get the opportunity, Mr Jinapor would boldly responds to them that his government is not in power.
But according to the supporters, they had documentary evidence that the other NDC MPs who are in other constituencies had been supporting their supporters and members to be recruited into the police, military, fire and prison services.
"We have now want to back the recent public statement made by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who accused Mr. Jinapor, for failing to bring the needed development to the constituency.
The President was, however, more favourable in his assessment of Mr. Jinapor’s predecessor, Seidu Amadu, who had been the MP of Yapei-Kusawgu until 2012.
Speaking to residents of Yapei-Kusawgu after inspecting the Fufulso-Bunjia road as part of his tour of the Savannah Region, President Akufo-Addo said John Jinapor has not done well for his people.
“The young man [John Jinapor] who for a long time was minister of power, 17 communities in his district still have not been connected to the electricity grid.”
Mr. Akufo-Addo also said the educational development under Mr. Jinapor was wanting.
The president noted that there is “no senior technical high school in the whole of the Kusawgu area.
Following this development, the supporters of the NDC said they were in full support of the outburst of President Akufo-Addo because the evidence of poor performances of their MP are visibly in the various electoral areas within the constituency.
They pointed out that the inability of their MP to perform well to expectations of the constituents has made the NDC unpopular in Yapei  Kusawgu, resulting to the decision of many known floating voters to develop the affection for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the constituency.
They stated that some of them were unhappy about the MP to contest the upcoming NDC parliamentary primaries unopposed.
They were of the view that the evidence available shows that the forcing of Mr Jinapor on the delegates and members is likely to reduce the vote margins of the party in the constituency of the 2024 general elections.
They hinted that some supporters of the party are threatening not to vote for the NDC in the area due to the poor performance of Mr Jinapor for not lobbying to bring the needed social and infrastructure developmental projects and programmes to the constituency.
"We, the grassroots and delegates want to send a strong signal to regional and national leadership of the NDC that the party structures and foundations in the constituency had been broken.
"We are hereby saying that NDC seat in the constituency is not safe which is likely to affect to the party to attain more votes in the Yapei Kusawgu Constituency in the 2024 polls, although the constituency is one of the electoral strong holds of the NDC," the stated.

However, several attempts made by Soireenews.com to get Mr Jinapor to respond to allegations levelled against proved unsuccessfully.

The MP has also refused to respond to the various Whatsapp messages to sent to him by this journalist.

Mr Jinapor first entered parliament in 2017 on the ticket of the NDC as member of the Seventh Parliament representing the people of Yapei-Kusawgu.
He was re-elected into the current 8th Parliament. He was appointed deputy Minister of Energy under the John Mahama administration.
