Why her father-in-law turned into a "enemy" is revealed by Mohbads's wife

Omowunmi Aloba, wife of deceased singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba (a.k.a Mohbad), on Tuesday, told a coroner’s court in Lagos State that she used to relate well with her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba, and that both of them were very close.

But Omowunmi claimed that soon after giving birth to her son Liam, their relationship soured.

During the coroner's inquiry into his husband's death, she provided testimony.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the singer passed away on September 12 at the age of 27, and the day after, he was buried.

The Lagos State judiciary held a coroner's inquest into the death of human rights lawyer Femi Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, at the request of his legal business.

The inquest is being held at the Ikorodu Magistrates' Court in Lagos and started on October 13.

The late singer chose not to have Liam's naming ceremony in Ikorodu, where he (Mohbad's father) resided, and Omowunmu informed the coroner, Adedayo Shotobi, a magistrate, that this decision infuriated Mohbad's father.

According to Omowunmi, Mohbad's father accused her of being the reason behind the late singer's choice to forego his desire for a different location for the event.

She continued by saying that Mohbad's father had brought several different women into their married home, and that her own mother had caught him on one of those occasions.

Omowunmi claimed that Mohbad, who was never home, learned of it and advised his father never to invite women around.

She claimed that because he felt she was putting a strain on his relationship with his son, Mohbad's father turned against her and became resentful of her.

Before my son Liam was born, I had an excellent relationship with my father-in-law. As a matter of fact, I frequently invited him to our home.

However, Mohbad grew enraged with me, believing I was the one responsible for everything, since he was upset with him for some of the things he was doing and because Mohbad refused to have our son's naming ceremony in Ikorodu.

She remarked, "So he turned against me and stopped talking to me like before."Omowunmi added that before to his passing, her husband had endured numerous instances of bullying, harassment, and humiliation at the hands of friends and employees of his record label, Malian Records.

According to NAN, the coroner offered Omowunmi her condolences for her husband's passing at the start of the proceedings and assured her that justice will be done in this instance.
