West Bromwich have confirmed the appointment of Sam Allardyce as their new manager.

The West Midlands team sacked Slaven Bilic on Wednesday morning after a poor run of matches in 13 Premier League games, having lost eight, won once with four draws and are 19th on the League table.

Sam Allardyce has been awarded an 18-month contract at the Hawthorns which includes a break clause if the Baggies are relegated.

He arrives at Albion with his long-time assistant, Sammy Lee and will take training on Thursday in preparation for Sunday’s Premier League fixture against Aston Villa.
