Wenchi: MCE’s Two Day Fasting And Prayer begins

The Wenchi Municipal Assembly in collaboration with other Key stakeholders has set aside two Special Days for fasting, prayers and thanksgiving involving all Religious Faiths in the municipality. 

The program which began yesterday with the Islamic community according to the MCE aims to seek God's guidance, protection and strengthen the spiritual well being of the people in the municipality.

 Activities for the programme includes a cleanup exercise to be led by the Wenchi Municipal Assembly, the Local Council of Churches and the Muslim Council as well as all other Organizations such as keep fit clubs within the municipality.
According to this initiative the MCE Hon.  Alexander Obour Damoah joined hundreds of Muslims at the Wenchi Central Mosque for Muslims Friday prayers.
Later in the day, he climaxes the special Adua for the entire municipality.
The Islamic Clergy were so elated for such a laudable initiative by the Hon. MCE.

The Council of Ummah seized the opportunity to urge him to keep entrusting the affairs of the Wenchi Municipality into the hands of the Almighty Allah as he does his part for the area.

Today Saturday, January 29, 2022, will be followed by a cleanup exercise at Wenchi the Municipal Capital and its surrounding communities by the general public.

All shops/ stores, businesses and workplaces remained closed during the exercise from 6: 00 am to 10: 00 am.
All food vendors, traders, and transport operators including tricycles (Pragia/ Motor King were not allowed to operate during the exercise, except in special or emergency cases.

There was a security task force to monitor to ensure total compliance with these directives  

Tomorrow  Sunday, January 30, 2022, the executives, members of the Local Council of Churches and all Christians will climax it with Christian prayers and thanksgiving service.
Addressing the media, the MCE called on all to endeavour to adhere to the directive for God to descend on their lives and the Assembly at large.
