We'll fiercely resist the Agyapa deal-Nii Lante Vanderpurye

As Parliament reconvenes on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, one of the bills, likely to be on the table to be considered would be another controversial deal, the  Agyapa deal.
The finance minister, Ken Ofori-Atta recently gave notice that the withdrawn Agyapa deal was still on his mind, which announcement had received mixed reactions among the citizenry.

It is in the light of that, the Member of Parliament for Odododiodio constituency within the Greater Accra Region, Honourable Edward Nii Lante Vanderpurye has given a stern warning to the Akufo-Addo led government that there would be a repeat of the fistfight that happened on the floor of parliament.
He sounded the warning today, Wednesday, May 18, 2022, in an interview monitored by Soireenews.com that the insensitive Akufo Addo-Bawumia should withdraw from the Agyapa deal because the opposition would fiercely resist it.

According to the lawmaker, the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) will not allow what he described as every deal to be forced down on Ghanaians.

Being supported by the Supreme Court to implement the illegality of e-levy even when they did not have the numbers in parliament to pass the bill, they passed it.
But upon challenging the matter at the court, the Supreme Court defiled their laws to pass e-levy into law.
He said the thievery of the Agyapa deal would not be allowed to be passed if it called for fighting the MPs on the ruling party's side.
"Read my lips, we will resist any attempt by the government to force the Agyapa deal on Ghanaians", he stressed.
"We have an intolerant government which does not allow rule of law to be respected but at the peril of our lives, we will resist it", the lawmaker maintained.
