The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Coastal Development Authority (CODA), Mr Jerry Ahmed Shaib, has denied wide spread reports to the effect he has claimed to have self-funded some ongoing construction of the development projects in the Weija-Gbawe constituency of the Greater Accra, being facilitated by the sitting Member of Parliament of the area, Mrs.Tina Naa Ayeley Mensah.

Mincing no words, the hardworking CEO also rubbished the allegation leveled against him that he has held series of secret meetings with some executives, coordinators and polling station executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to clandestinely work out an exit plan against Mrs. Mensah.
It would be re-called that scores of young people calling themselves Concerned Youths of Weija-Gbawe Constituency have lashed scathing attacks at Mr Shiabu, saying that his actions and inactions were threatening the peace and unity within the NPP in the area.
In a worded press statement signed and issued by the Secretary of Concerned Youths of Weija-Gbawe, Mr. Kwame Adom, the group alleged that Mr Shiabu is holding secret meetings with some party executives, coordinators and polling station executives to clandestinely work out an exit plan against the Sitting Member of Parliament, Mrs Tina Naa Ayeley Mensah.

The group said that it has sent copies of the press statement to the NPP National Executives, the NPP Greater Regional Executives and the all media houses and stressed that it has series of documentary envidences to back their claims and dared Mr.Shiabu to submit himself  to the public scrutiny if he claimed he has not exhibited these practices.
The group noted that the conduct and behaviour of some top members including CEO of CODA in Weija-Gbawe constituency defies political logic and reasoning.
"It is established that, some constituency executives are prosecuting an agenda within the constituency to paint a negative picture about the sitting Member of Parliament, Mrs. Tina Mensah. This is affecting the party and development of the constituency.
"Ladies and gentlemen, gross show of disrespect and greed on the part of these individuals embolden the opposition NDC in Weija-Gbawe Constituency they are close to take over the seat.
The group accused CODA CEO of sabotaging their MP and called on the leadership of the NPP to call him to order, saying that their  misconducts are affecting the NPP and development of the constituency.
"It is also true that, Lawyer Jerry Ahmed Shiabu is claiming ownership of the projects facilitated by the sitting Member of Parliament, Mrs.Tina Naa Ayeley Mensah to derail the political fortunes of the party in the constituency," the group noted.
The group stressed that CODA CEO is going round telling people that he has sponsored  some ongoing projects in the Weija-Gbawe including the ongoing construction of a bridge in Choice Area.
"This man is claiming ownership for some development projects. This is because he is interesting to contest the Weija-Gbawe NPP parliamentary seat. So he is now going about saying that he is the one doing some projects in the area although he works with the CODA. So if CODA is doing some projects in the area does it mean it is his self funded projects.

"Being the CEO of CODA does not mean that you are the one doing the bridge project at Choice area. It is the institution which is doing the project so don't go about saying that it is your project.

"There is also ongoing construction of the  Astroturf Pitch Project at Weija that he is also laying claim that, he is the one building the project although the project is being sponsored by CODA. This is not himself funded project.

"At least he should gives the benefit to the government that it is the state which is doing the project but Lawyer Jerry Ahmed Shiabu is going it is around saying that he is doing it," Mr. Kwame Adom revealed in an interview with Soireenews.com via telephone when this online news outlet contacted on Wednesday January 4, 2022 to authentic the press statement copied to it outfit.
The group called on the Greater Accra Regional Executives of the NPP to call Lawyer Jerry Ahmed Shaibu and his cohorts to order since their actions are affront to the dictates of the party as enshrined in the NPP constitution.
According to the youth, Lawyer Jerry Ahmed Shaibu is not a registered voter in Weija-Gbawe Constituency and has not contributed in anyway meaningful to aid the course and growth of the party in the said constituency.
"Again, lawyer Jerry Ahmed is using his appointment as CODA CEO to create confusion and disrespect to the party hierarchy in Weija-Gbawe Constituency," the group noted.
The group indicated that the sitting Member of Parliament holds unprecedented electoral records from 2016 to 2020.
This, according to the group, has translated to some votes increased of over 12,212 ahead of the NDC in Weija-Gbawe Constituency.
The group pointed out that the unflinching collaboration between the MCE for Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Mr. Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor and the MP, Hon Tina Mensah is superb which must be continued to enable the party win the seat again in 2024.
"We wish to bring to the attention of the general public and the NPP fraternity, particularly in Weija-Gbawe, the extent to which gross disrespect and selfish interest in the part of some individuals have taken root in the constituency.
The conduct and behaviour of some top members in Weija-Gbawe Constituency defy political logic and reasoning.
"It is established that, some constituency executives are prosecuting an agenda within the constituency to paint a negative picture about the sitting Member of Parliament, Hon Tina Mensah," the group stated.
However in a quick response, Lawyer Jerry Ahmed Shaibu flatly rubbished all the allegations leveled against him, saying that it was never true that he claimed that he has self funded the construction of the social and infrastructure intervention development projects in Weija-Gbawe constituency.
According to Mr. Shaibu, all the development projects being carried in the Weija-Gbawe constituency under the CODA have been done on the approval of the Board of CODA.
He stressed that being the lawyer by profession as well as a loyal and law abiding citizen of Ghana, he would be the last person to violate the law of this country.
The Director of Corporate Affairs of CODA, Mr. David Nii Amaa who spoke on behalf of Mr. Shaibu noted that the CODA signboads have been erected at the various entrances of all the ongoing construction development projects carried by the CODA in the Weija-Gbawe constituency.
"So how can l claimed ownership of these projects, l never said any plaform that l have self funded any problem in Weija-Gbawe, l respect the law of this country," Mr. Shaibu re-emphasized.
He also denied the report of holding meeting with these aforementioned executives in the area to unseat the incumbent MP, daring the so-called Concerned Weija-Gbawe Youths to provide evidence to support their claims.
He pointed that he respects the structures of the NPP and that he would never done anything that would disturb and bring confusion in the NPP in Weija-Gbawe constituency.
He stressed that the allegations leveled against him was a cooked story by Kwame Adum and cohorts to tarnish his reputation as as scoring their political points but it has failed to fly.
