''We Are Fully Behind YOU''-Asamoah Gyan Supports Black Stars

Ghanaian former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has advised the Black Stars to go all out in their crucial World Cup playoff against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

The Black Star's all-time top scorer said the team has to come out and play like wounded lions for the World Cup in Qatar.

In a tweet, Asamoah Gyan said the nation is fully behind the team and they should go on and make the nation proud.

He wrote, ‘’The nation is fully behind you, to make it to the world cup after all the setbacks is a game change achievement for the nation, yourselves & your families. Step on the pitch as wounded lions & go make history once again. Go Ghana Black Stars Go for Gold.’’

Recall that earlier this week, Asamoah Gyan blasted the Ghana Football Association for excluding Anderlecht midfielder Majeed Ashimeru from the squad.

The 36-year-old believes only Thomas Party is better than Ashimeru and the latter should’ve been included in the squad.

Whiles regular names such as Thomas Party, Mohammed Kudus, and Daniel Kofi Kyere were in the squad, Ashimeru was conspicuously missing.

The Anderlecht midfielder has been one of Ghana’s most consistent players in Europe this season, contributing three goals and two assists for the Belgian giants.

However, the likes of Edmund Addo, Baba Iddrisu, and debutant Elisha Owusu were preferred ahead of the former WAFA star.

Reacting to this, Gyan slammed the technical handlers of the Black Stars over Ashimeru’s omission, insisting he is only second to Party.
