The Presiding Member of Wenchi Municipal Assembly, Honorable Samuel Mensah have condemned the vetting of Metropolitan Municipal District Chief Executives(MMDCEs) by the political parties in the country.

According to him, the act is a waste of resources and that will not inure to the development of the people. He indicated that the process was not only a breeding ground for unnecessary tensions but also a complete waste of time and resources.

He is of the view that the exercise has been the major cause of unnecessary demonstrations and agitations at the district against the President’s nominees.

Prospective Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) who have applied to serve in the second term of President Nana Akufo-Addo in at the various Assemblies have been appearing before a regional vetting committee for them to shortlist the final three for the president’s final consideration.

Some Regions are already done with theirs whiles some are still underway. But the Wenchi Presiding Member seems not to be happy with the move describing it as needless.
